Signing Books and Other Events!

Hello all!

2014_signing

On Thursday evening I attended the Camberwell Dymocks Booklovers Signing event and sat next to the lovely Tracy M. Joyce who has also published her first novel! It was a wonderful coincidence, as our covers are very similar (female with bow and arrow accompanied by trusty wolf) but the stories are so different! It was a pleasure signing books next to her and I can’t wait to get started on her book, Altaica. You can check out her website here: http://tracymjoyce.com. Make sure to take a look at Altaica – a debut novel with a brilliant plot interwoven with moral and controversy. I sold and signed four books, which was a wonderful experience, and I hope to join in on this event again next time it comes around!

I’m also going to take this opportunity to say that the first four books in the StarryWings series have gone to free!  You can find these on iBooks, Smashwords, and lots of other online eBook stores. I’ve also been working on some artwork of the characters which you can see on my Facebook page.

Happy reading!

Collins Bookstore at Croydon

Hello!

My Dad and I visited Collins Bookstore in Croydon the other day to see how my books were going! I was quite excited when I found out that one of the copies had sold and the others were sitting on display in front of one of the counters! I’d been before with my Mum and my sister to drop off the books, but I hadn’t seen them sitting amongst the other books before then. I’ll be visiting again to drop off a small biography to go on display with the books (plus I’ll probably scour across the bookshelves in search of my next read – maybe The Maze Runner?). It’s amazing that I’ve been accepted into so many different stores now – and I hope to keep that number growing! Collins Bookstore at Croydon is a really great place to drop by, with such a wide variety of books and dvd’s (not to mention the fact they’ve got their own little dog wandering about!)

I’m having a lot of trouble writing at the moment due to Writer’s Block, which is seemingly incurable but I suppose I’ll just have to wait it out. Until then, I’ll be looking for inspiration and writing vague poetry to waste away the time.

Dymocks Camberwell!

Wonderful news!  Aim is making it onto more book shelves every week.

This week, dad visited Dymocks Camberwell who are now stocking Aim.  It’s a great feeling to get my book into stores that have such a great attitude towards local writers, and that want to help young readers find something new to read.

Just take a look at their photo stream on Facebook to get a feeling for how much they do to encourage kids to read.

Aim is in store!

Super awesome news, guys! My latest book, Aim is now in Eltham Bookstore! Pretty exciting!

Dad and I visited the other day to show the book to the manager, Meera, and she’s agreed to take some copies and see what happens with them. Since we haven’t published with a big brand (Penguin, Allen & Unwin, for example) nobody is really in the mood for stocking it in piles, but I didn’t expect that since it’s only my sixth book.  Meera had some really excellent advice that for my next book I should go all the way – find a traditional publisher, try my hardest to polish it, and get the book distributed that way.

I’m willing to do this, of course, right after I get past this little writer’s block I’ve been dished out. I’m still writing, but the next book in the Aim series is already written up; it just needs to be rewritten, which is where I’m a bit blocked.

Being attached to it and enjoying some of the parts I’ve put into it, I am procrastinating and find it hard to start the book again (I’ve tried several times and all that’s come out is something thin and just terribly wrong).

In the meantime, I’ve started another book along with my other thirteen unfinished skits and have reached the threshold of 30,000 words – though this new idea is very long and detailed, and 30,000 words hasn’t even gotten the main characters to meet. So now, as I write this, even the ideas for that book seem to have stopped flowing. *sigh* I hate writer’s block. I still write, but it’s awful. ‘Nuff said.

So, here’s the link to Eltham Bookstore, because they’re awesome and you should check them out. Their bookstore has an awesomely wide range (including “The Fault in Our Stars”. Whoever stocks that book has to be amazing). Find them at https://www.facebook.com/elthambookshop

So, bye-di-bye. I think I’d better make another start on the sequel to Aim. *groans*

New book cover revealed!

Extra-exciting news! My new book is coming out soon! 🙂

We’re still going through the process of looking through the hard-copy to see whether we’ve made any slip ups. I had no idea how much time it took for printed versions to be edited and published. You need all of these business entitlements and numbers and all this stuff I only half-understand. Thank goodness for my Dad! I wouldn’t be able to handle this all by myself and he’s worked so hard on it for me. So extra extra kudos to Dad.

"Aim" Book Cover

I’m not going to give you a preview of the words in the book, but I AM going to release the book cover for you guys to take a good look at. It’s not drawn by me, of course; its drawn by Maja Majetic – here’s a URL to her pure awesomeness deviantart page: http://shadowdragon22.deviantart.com – and I have to say nobody could have put my ideas for the cover down onto paper so perfectly. Maja managed to put every single detail of how I imagined the cover from pencil to…uh…digital screen, and it’s absolutely positively PERFECT. Three cheers for Maja, people. Maja is awesome.

So. I really hope you like the front cover. I adore it. I’m proud to say it’s the cover of my new book, Aim, based on Greek Mythology. There will be a sequel to it, but right now I’ve found that I desperately need to rewrite the second book (Yes, I’ve already written it, but it is not as good as I want it to be, that’s why I need to rewrite it.)

Also, keep an eye out on www.booksarecool.com because Stephanie who edited Aim for me has also written a cover reveal and will be writing more as the book is released.  Stephanie’s book reveal can be found here.

Have fun with whatever you’re up to, and keep an eye out. Aim will be out soon.

Book 5 is out!

Hi!

I am soooooooo happy! I finally finished the StarryWings series! Book 5 was published not too long ago, which is great. I’m kind of sad too, because I won’t be writing about Star anymore. But I promise, I’ll still do stories on the kingdom and what it’s become because of what Star has done.

I’m looking forward to Dad editing the next series that I have in store for him. During the last year or so I wrote two books on the Greek Gods and such. It’s modern, involving a new goddess, who is the main character. She’s pretty cool. But in the next book, she’s the second main character, because the main character is a guy and he’s got superpowers. The girl is trying to make him help her on a quest for peace.

I’ve also got around four new stories started, and unfinished. Whenever I get an idea, I instantly start writing it down on our tablet, otherwise I just never get to it.  It took me a bit of  an effort to finish Starry Wings after I found out I had to rewrite it, but in the end, I managed! Its good that I have a nagging editor on my case 24/7, otherwise I may have never finished it. Thank you, Dad!

Well, hopefully I’ll have my next two books out soon. Until then, bye bye!

Long time no see!

Hallo!

Oops – I haven’t written in a while! I’ve had a break, you might say. A break called the school holidays! I’m sorry, I’ve been busy. But back to business now. : )

I’ve been writing a lot. The fifth book is onto the editing stage! I’m very happy. And waiting behind it are – let’s see – three books for editing and around four different books still being worked on at the same time. When I’m writing, I can never just write one book at a time! If I get stuck, I can always try a different book until I’ve thought of what to do.

The gallery is on it’s way. I’ve got enough pictures for it to actually look like a gallery. I’ve been working very hard and trying new techniques. Here’s a hint on what they’ll look like; a japanese type of cartoon! It’s my favourite type of book to read and draw. Everyone I know knows I like this style of drawing a lot.

Well, let’s hope the gallery is posted by the next time I post!

Art of Creation

Hallo!

I’ve been doing some planning recently, and I’ve decided to create a Gallery where I will store my latest drawing for readers to view! Since I love drawing, I just thought this would be a cool addition to the website. Most of the pictures should be colored in, but some in rare occasion will be just plain ol’ black and white.

A new review has also been posted by one of the authors on SmashWords. I was interviewed and got to answer some questions, which I found pretty cool. I do hope maybe you’ll get a chance to read it!♥

You can read it at: The Skyes the limit for this young author

Thanks to the loyal readers out there!
